I have looked up to Tommy Douglas my entire life. His words, vision, along with the countless insights I receive from Canadians across this great country help me form the basis of my policies. This week I introduced my plan to restructure healthcare in Canada as well as the development of a national pharmacare plan. I believe we can build a better world for Canadians of all ages, races, and financial backgrounds. I believe this policy is the right one for Canada and one that Tommy Douglas would approve of.

My policy document outlines the components of a national pharmacare program that will provide coverage for prescription medications to all Canadians irrespective of their health, social, geographic and financial circumstances. The document also details how Canadians will save $5.455 billion as a result of the implementation of the national pharmacare program. Companies that currently provide private plan coverage to their employees stand to save $560 million.
